Made from 100% ocean-
bound recycled plastic.

A solution to the ocean plastic problem

Sustainable packaging, recycled cardboard and biodegradable plastic bags.

Designed as a zero-waste product.

Sustainability is at the core of every Formaet product; we are committed to cleaning our oceans. We use only recycled, biodegradable or circular-economy materials.

OUR MISSION is to clean our oceans of plastic waste, transforming it into tools to expand creativity.

01 MATERIAL & IMPACT

Made from ocean-bound plastic.

Live counter — updating continuously

302.00 kg

Kilograms of ocean-bound plastic rescued and turned
into Formaet parts so far — and rising with every kit we make.

Every year more than 30.000 tonnes of wood are cut to make canvas stretcher canvas frames*

*Formaet estimate based on global wooden canvas stretcher sales.

02 HOW IT WORKS

From ocean waste
to creative structure.

Reclaimed ocean-bound plastic is collected, cleaned, and pelletized
before it’s molded into every Formaet part — no virgin plastic,
no exceptions.

100% Recycled Material

Every formaet part is molded from ocean-bound recycled plastic — nothing virgin, nothing single-use.

Built to Last, Not Landfill

A modular system means one set of parts sees years of projects instead of one trip to the bin.

Zero Wood Waste

Stop deforestation, clean the oceans of plastic waste instead.

03 WHY THIS MATTERS

Our oceans can't wait.

Ocean plastic isn’t a distant problem — it’s a climate problem, a biodiversity problem, and a problem with a closing window. Here’s why turning waste into art tools matters more than ever.

A crisis at scale

Millions of tonnes of plastic enter the ocean every year — roughly a garbage truck's worth every minute. Much of it accumulates in vast offshore systems like the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a floating mass of debris more than twice the size of Texas, drifting between California and Hawaii.

Microplastics, everywhere

Ocean plastic doesn't biodegrade — it breaks down into microplastics that persist for centuries. These fragments are now found in seawater, sea salt, and the tissue of fish and shellfish worldwide, entering the food chain at every level.

A human health problem too

Microplastics have been found in human blood, lungs, and drinking water. Researchers are still studying the long-term effects — but reducing the amount of plastic re-entering the environment is already understood to matter for human health, not only marine life.

Marine ecosystems, protected

Healthy oceans regulate global temperature and produce over half the oxygen we breathe. Plastic drifting in the water also disrupts phytoplankton, one of the planet's largest natural carbon sinks — tying ocean health directly to climate change.

Every kit removes
plastic from the ocean. Be part of the solution.

Choosing Formaet doesn’t just get you a better canvas system — it directly funds the removal and reuse of ocean bound plastic, kit by kit.
